Things to do

There are many things to do in and around the Shaldon area. Here’s a selection of ideas;

• Go to Shaldon, sit on the beach and watch the world go by
• Walk down to Shaldon along the estuary and catch the ferry to Teignmouth
• Visit Shaldon Wildlife trust, The Botanic Garden and walk through the Smugglers Tunnel
• Walk along the Templer way, which follows the edge of the Teign Estuary towards Dartmoor and spend some time bird spotting with refreshments at the spectacular Coombe Cellars pub.
• Visit Torquay for the day
• Spend the morning at Babbacombe, see the Model Village and ride on the cliff railway
• Visit Totnes for shopping, the castle and the fantastic 16th and 17th century buildings
• Visit Dartmouth for its Medieval and Elizabethan streets, natural deep water harbour, castle and Dart River cruises
• Go walking in Dartmoor and visit the historic village of Widdecombe
